Swiftpage is a permission-based email marketing service with a no tolerance SPAM policy. If anyone is found to have violated the following conditions, Swiftpage has the right to terminate service. The Federal CAN-SPAM Act was put into effect on January 1 st, 2004 – and penalties for violations range from $250 to $2 million and affect nearly everyone who sends email. Swiftpage’s policy also applies to anyone outside of the United States.
The more time you take to build a permission-based list, the more responsive your list will be because they have requested to receive information from you. Every recipient of your email should have been clearly and fully notified of the collection and use of his or her email address and has consented prior to such collection and use. Consent is not required to be in writing. If you have any questions or concerns about your email address list, please contact Swiftpage right away at: (877) 228-8377. Outside of the United States, please call +1 (303) 978-1000.
The most important of the CAN-SPAM Act’s stipulations is the "opt-out" function that end recipients can employ at any time, prohibiting companies from contacting them in the future. Once a person "opts-out" of an email from any company, the company as a whole must cease all email to that individual. This affects disparate sales people as well.
Swiftpage includes an opt-out link at the footer of every email that is sent out through our system. In addition, the suppression is managed on the Swiftpage server, meaning that the "opt-out" information is disseminated company-wide for those who use Swiftpage, and even prohibits delivery to that list, regardless if your salesperson has requested delivery or not.
There is also a “Sent By” postal (physical) address in which your company’s information is always displayed at the footer of every email.
